I got out for a couple shoot with Melissa and Brad, who are getting hitched in Langley in August. As they hadn't been to Victoria in ages, they came over and I showed them around some of the nice spots like Beacon Hill Park and Ogden Point. We even did a horse carriage ride around the Legislative Building. That's one thing I hadn't done before here! It was a fun shoot and they both warmed up to the camera in no time.
Their day had a bit of everything - all sorts of emotions, great people, food and wine, and even some fame! There was also something old and something new, with the ceremony at St. Andrew's Cathedral, one of the oldest and grandest churches in Victoria, and the reception at the new and aptly-named Church and State Winery. The flower girls were the cutest... A wave to the curious tour bus riders stopped next to us... Lucas had ALL the moves going... And finally a photographer from the local paper spotted them and snapped their photo, which appeared in press the next day, much to our delight!
The Royal Victoria Yacht Club in Cadboro Bay was the scene for this happy couple's nuptials on a glorious Sunday afternoon. Becky & Jonathan enjoy boats (and plan to live on one soon) so they were at ease when they paddled around the shallows in a dingy for some play time after the ceremony. The docks made for some interesting backdrops and the members seemed to enjoy the spectacle.
