Cam & Lisa - June 6th

It was beautifully warm and sunny for Cam and Lisa's big day at the new Beach Club Resort in Parksville, B.C. The tide was way out from the beach which made for a dramatic back-drop. The day was filled with fun, laughter and tears which culminated with an early reception and lots of high jinks on the dance floor.

GoBoda Bootcamp

Some things just seem to fall into place. When I saw Jim Garner's GoBoda Bootcamp and saw that it was in nearby Seattle the week after I got back from Canada, I thought it would be a great opportunity to take my photography to another level. It didn't disappoint! Although pricey at first glance, the workshop was first-class and definitely worth it. A small group size of enthusiastic shooters, fun shoots downtown, and Jim's quirky style and gorgeous images... There was lots and lots of great info on the business and album side of things, along with golden Photoshop techniques, plus great socializing and food. I was impressed at how open Jim was about sharing his knowledge, and the business talk by Lanae Rivers-Woods and Katarina Garner had a big impact on me. Check out Kip's photo blog for an eloquent description.

Engagement session

On my return back to Victoria from Australia for the northern version of summer weddings, I got right into it with with a fun shoot with my soon-to-be-weds Jen and Ben (and dog Bailey). Although they've been engaged for a while now and are tying the knot later this month, it was a great evening to get out and explore some interesting downtown locations and get them comfortable in front of the camera. We walked around Fisherman's Wharf and a few spots like Market Square and a cool alley I had never noticed before.
